The Incentive Fund Team Hosted an Information Session Roadshow at Kuri Vilage Resort on July 3rd, 2024 in Buka. The road show was one of two scheduled for the two main towns in AROB, Buka and Arawa. BWF representatives were privileged to be part of the group that have attended the insightful and informative roadshow.
The Incentive Fund is an Australian Government Competitive Grants Program that’s seeks to improve social and economic development outcomes that benefit Papua New Guinean communities. They work with a range of organizations such as, Church-based Service Providers, Government Service Providers, Provincial and District Governments, Business, NGO’s and Other Development Partners.
Since 2000, the incentive fund has awarded more than K700 Million to partners in health, education, agriculture, economic development and water and sanitation. The Grant Amount of Project Total Incentive Fund finances is between PGK 3-15 Million an Expression of Interest (EOI) total amount outside of this range will not be considered. An Incentive Fund Overview, 3 Stages Grant Application Process (1. Expression of Interest (EOI), 2. Investment Case 3. Incentive Fund Agreement (IFA)) and an Introduction to Cross-cutting issues were covered during the presentation.
A number of ABG Department heads, Ministers, Members, Representatives from other Government departments, NGO’s and the Private Sector also attended. The Incentive Fund Board meets 4 times a year and is made up of one standing member respectively from The PNG Government Department of National Planning and Monitoring, the Australian High Commission and 5 Independent PNG members.
