BWF President
Barbara Tanne
Barbara Tanne has over 20 years of experience working directly with women, girls, and communities in Bougainville across the areas of peace buildings, gender based violence, leadership and mentoring, and civil society management. She was elected President of BWF in 2021.

BWF Vice President - North Region
Hellen Siumana
Hellen Siumana was elected President of North Bougainville in 2021. She works with the Offfice for Missing Persons and is on the board for Devare Aventist High. Her focus is on mentoring and empowerment of women and girls in leadership and advocacy around economic empowerment. She stands strongly against gender based violence and conducts couselling in her community of Uruae 2 in Taonita Teop constituency. She has also been a regular partiicpant in peace buidling programs n North Bougainville.

BWF Vice President - Central Region
Lavinia Kamai
Lavinia has been working with women and community groups for over ten years. Her journey with BWF started in 2015 where she was elected President of Wakunai's Young Women's Association in 2015. In 2021 she was elected to the Executive Counsel and Vice President of the Central Region.

Treasurer
Dolores Kaiae
Dolores started on her BWF journey by taking leadership courses and joining her local district federation. This helped her navigate issues with her local leadership and eventually become the Goverment Finance Inpector, conducting audits on all 40 Community Governments throughout Bougainville. Following this, Dolores joined BWF in 2021 as the Treasurer and a member of the Executive Counsel.
Our Leadership - District Presidents

District President - Atolls
Lewisa Amani
Lewisa Amani hails from Mortlock Islands, Atolls District, North Bougainville Region. She first got into leadership in 2010, representing the women and girls from Mortlock Island. She was than elected as the President of the Atolls District Women’s Federation in 2013 and is still the current President. She is also the church leader with the Christian Revival Centre of Bougainville.
Lewisa has great deal of experience in leadership, mentoring, counselling and proposal writing. She runs awareness, policy drafting, leadership trainings including project management both physical and spiritual for women and girls.
She also runs her little business and encourages women and girls to step into such an avenue for small income generating to support themselves with their families.

District President - Selau/Suir
Marama Agnes Soahei
Marama was elected president in September 2021. She is a storng advocate on gender based violence, counselling, including Spiritual Nourishment for her Sunday school program, and economic empowerment. She is currently engaged with Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation on peace building, the Women Human Rights Defender Program, and trauma counselling.
